The Pious Union was
first established at the Little Flower Shrine, San Antonio, Texas in 1933.
At a later date it was combined with what is now the Archconfraternity of the
Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The mission of this organization
is to promote and spread devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and to Saint
Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus. We profess our dedication to them
under their protection, pleading for their intercession; as individuals who wear
the Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, we join ourselves to the apostolate of
the prayer of the Carmelite Order. Special days of recollection are held
twice a year.
Special Dates/Announcements:
One of our major events is the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on July 16,
celebrated
with a procession, a special mass, reception and
the distribution of the scapulars to all in attendance.
