Society of St. Therese

“Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show love? Great deeds are forbidden me.
The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and
these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word,
and the doing of the least actions is love.”  --
St. Therese

Women’s Guild

Our Purpose: To act as a catalyst in the promotion of health & social service ministries to better serve our community; to support the charitable work and public relation efforts for the restoration of the Basilica; and to further the work of our community outreach endeavors.

Our Mission: To lead by example by emulating the benevolent spirit of St. Therese though the promotion of fellowship and service to meet the needs of our community.

In the 75 year history of the Little Flower Basilica, the Society of St. Therese is a “first” in the creation of an organized effort of Catholic women to serve as the key volunteer arm to the Restoration & Community Programs department of the Basilica.  The Society of St. Therese members serve as ambassadors to the San Antonio community and help to sustain the charitable, social and educational activities of the Basilica.  This work is accomplished through a shared vision and the leadership and commitment of dedicated members who help to establish a strong foundation for volunteerism.

The Society of St. Therese meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Parish meeting room.  To join the Society of St. Therese, please contact July Moreno de Lopez at (210) 734-4002 or e-mail at julylfbasilica@sbcglobal.net.
